More than 2,300 Albertans joined together in Calgary, Alberta on March 1-3 at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre to take part in Calgary’s first Cannabis Canada National Educational Conference and Business Opportunity Forum and #CannabisCon.
The three-day event kicked off on Thursday evening with an invitation-only Medical Professional Dinner. This evening was focused on bringing a high level of intended medical-focus to professionals working with patients who are looking for more information on cannabis and the changing industry. Our speakers for this evening included Dr. Jamie R. Cox, Medical Director at Sundial and Dr. Jahan Marcu, Chief Science Officer at Americans for Safe Access and Director of the Patient Focused Certification Program.
Friday’s Business Opportunity Day included a wide variety of highly respected industry leaders, physicians, and three-levels of government representation which brought forth educated information in a business to business setting. The day was directed at entrepreneurs and investors within the cannabis sector and was filled with educational seminars, an exhibitor trade show, and the highly regarded Calgary Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.
Saturday’s #CannabisCon had a more laid back feel with a focus on the consumer and general public looking to educate themselves about the changing cannabis landscape within Canada. Cannabis education seminars and a trade show exhibition took place throughout the day with a job fair wrapping up the conference in the late afternoon.
Excellent conference in Calgary! We feel honoured to have been a part of an audience eager to learn more about cannabis as it becomes legal in Canada. As seniors, my husband and I attended to learn more about using medicinal cannabis, in particular, thereby replacing pharmaceuticals as we age. Having absolutely no experience with this product, this conference provided us with the impetus to simply become familiar with cannabis varieties, general uses, where to go to obtain these products, the difficulties facing both federal and provincial governments in setting regulations and to be a bit more tolerant and forgiving for the timeframe in this Canadian cannabis legalization journey. Thank you very much.

All of us want to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in making these conferences such a success. We couldn’t have done it without our incredible sponsors, exhibitors, key speakers, all of those behind the scenes, and of course all of YOU who made this possible by coming out and taking in the conferences.
